The RD National College was established in Hyderabad (Sind) in 1922 and after the Partition, it got relocated to Mumbai. The college originally catered to the educational needs of the refugee community, and later the local population joined the college in large numbers. The motto of the college is "Play the Game". Its mission is to ensure the all round development of the students.

USP of the college:
The badminton and basketball courts are popular hangouts. The Honors Programme encourages students to research topics outside their curriculum. The Mentor system has one teacher mentoring 20 students. A credit system encourages students to take up extra-curricular activities.

Streams:
Arts, Science, Commerce, Mass Media, Information Technology, and Computer Science. Electronics, Computer Science and IT are offered as Vocational subjects in Junior College.
