The founders of the K.C. College were its first Principal, K.M. Kundnani and Barrister Advani, both of whom helped a lot to set up the college with their vast experiences. The K.C. The globally scattered Sindhi community helped a lot in the establishment of the college. However, it was the Kishinchand Chellaram family that contributed most to the college`s founding and that is why, the college was named after the family. The Watumull family was also a prominent contributor. Though, the first batch comprising 1800 students was admitted in the college from 1st June, 1954, the formal inauguration of the college was done by the then Chief Minister of Bombay, Shri Morarji Desai on 15th August, 1954.
