The Doongarsee Gangjee Ruparel College is part of a group of institutions that belongs to the Modern Education Society. The college started its HSC and degree courses in 1975. It has introduced papers in Information Technology at the junior college level and undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Computer Science and Information Technology.

USP of the college:
Over the last 25 years, the college has been running the Brihanmumbai Centre for Talent Search, which prepares young students from schools and colleges for competitive examinations such as the National Talent Search, Pre-medical Test and the IlT-JEE. At Ruparel, the library is the zone where students hang out with a strict academic atmosphere all around. Kshitij is the inter-collegiate cultural fest.
