Chutti TV, launched by Sun TV network on 29th April 2007, targets tamil kids all over the world. This channel is the first of its kind 24 hours channel from the Sun TV Network targeting children in the age group 2 to 14, with regional and international flavor. The shows are designed to engage and educate children throughout the day. It has lined up shows such as `Chutti Yoga` in the morning and then a dance show called `Rumbumbum`. This is followed by cartoon serials such as `The Adventures of Jackie Chan`, `Godzilla`, `Stunt Dawgs`, `Men in Black` and `Astroboy`, sourced from leading production houses across the globe. All these international characters are given local resonance and a lot of regional flavor, lest the child is confused with cultural differences.
Chutti TV launches with a holiday viewership strategy, which will evolve accordingly to school holidays, exams and weekends, an approach that other players in the market apply as well. Additionally, Chutti TV will also air interactive pre-shcool series that presently airs on Nick India, Dora the Explora. Other programmes will include action cartoons Godzilla, Men in Black and Astroboy, a talent hunt Kids Khiladees, comedy show Chutti Looti, on-the-spot challenge shows like Chutti Challenge, phone-in shows for kids like `Hello Chutti!` among others.
