Ranji Trophy, 1957-58, Knock Out Matches
A total of 10 teams could make it to the knock out level of the tournament.

The best two teams from each of the Zones of the tournament became successful to enter into the knock out level of the Ranji Trophy, 1957-58. The matches of this level were mainly the likes of Quarter-Final, Semi-Final and the Final of the tournament and the teams like Hyderabad, Bengal, Bihar, Rajasthan, Baroda, Services etc. took part in the knock level matches of the tournament.

The teams like Hyderabad, Bengal, Rajasthan, Baroda and Services became successful to enter the Knock out level of the Ranji Trophy, 1957-58, thanks to their wonderful performances in the zonal level. In one of the Quarterfinal matches of the tournament, the Hyderabad and Bengal teams clashed with each other at Hyderabad from 21-23 February 1958. The match saw some extraordinary performances from the Bengal team, as it won the match by a huge margin of 10 wickets and entered into the Semi-Final of the tournament.

The teams of Rajasthan and Baroda played against each other in the first Semi-Final match of the Ranji Trophy, 1957-58 and the match was held at Udaipur from 07-09 February, 1958. Though, the match was drawn during its specified duration, the match officials decided to allow the Baroda team to compete in the Final for the trophy. The second Semi-Final saw a battle between the teams of Service and Bengal at Delhi from 28 February-03 March, 1958. This match also became drawn and the officials gave Services the permission to play against the Baroda team in the Final of the tournament. The Final match of the Ranji Trophy, 1957-58 was held at Baroda from 13-16 March, 1958, between the teams of Baroda and Services. The Baroda team extremely well in the match and eventually won the match by a very good margin of an innings and 51 runs. The team became the champion and also broke the successful trophy winning runs of the Bombay team in the tournament.
