In the
Puranas, Mandara or Mandhara is the mountain which appears in the Samundra Manthan and is the symbol of concentration.
The word Mandhara is made up of two words, `Mana` and `Dhara` meaning mind and a single line.

Mountain Mandhara was used as a churning rod to mix the ocean of milk. It is believed to be located 52 km south of
Bhagalpur,
Bihar a province of India. The specialty of the mountain is that it is not made of fragmented stones but the whole hill is one single connected structure.
