Charvaka is a Rakshasa, who disguised himself as a mendicant Brahman
and condemned Yudhishthira at his installation as Raja. As per Mahabharata
, the real Brahmans were very enraged with Charvaka at his conduct. So, they looked upon Charvaka with such angry eyes that he fell upon the ground like a tree struck with lightning, and was burnt to ashes on the spot.
