Chakshusha is the Manu of the sixth Manwantara. Chakshusha is said to be the son of Ripub by Vrihati. The Markandeya has a legend of Chakshusha`s birth as a son of Kshatriya. It is said that Chakshusha was exchanged at his birth for the son of Visranta Raja and was brought up by the prince as his own. Chakshusha became a Manu due to his devotions to Brahma. In his former birth, Chakshusha was born from the eye of Brahma and hence he is called Chakshusha.
