Bhudevi is another name of the planet earth.

Bhudevi is another name of the planet earth. As per a legend, Bhudevi was married to Prithu, the first king who taught the mode of cultivating the ground. It is said that therefore the earth is named Prithivi. Lord Vishnu delivered one of the Puranas to Bhudevi. Bhudevi or Bhumidevi is also said to be the secondary wife of Vishnu.
