Kirtivarman was succeeded by his son Sallakshamanvarman.

Kirtivarman was succeeded by his son Sallakshamanvarman. He was a brave and powerful ruler like his father. He had made a conquest over Antarvedi but could not establish his authority over it on account of Gahadva`a king Chandradeva. He also snatched the treasures of Malava and Chedis from Parmar king Inarvarman and king Yashakarna of Chedi dynasty as well.
