The gem stone related to moon is Pearl. Pearl is a kind of stone. It is a combine of calcium and oxygen. It is considered a kind of calcium carbonate on the basis of chemical combination.

Pearl belongs to the `Moon` and zodiac sign `cancer`. It is available in several colours. Rain drops, falling inside the mouth of pearl oysters during the `Swati Nakshatra` solidifies them into pearls. But the rising demand and attraction towards pearls have motivated scientists to provide humans with a vast number of cultivated pearls. These days with modern technology, substances equivalent to rain drops during the `Swati Nakashtra` are instilled into the sea shells which in layer after layer of nacre, cover them with coral substances. These are called cultivated pearls. The same shell prepares both real and cultivated pearls. Therefore, there is no distinction between their grandness. Its availability in a huge number has lowered its cost in the market. Thus, it has gained attractiveness in society.

According to astrology, the moon influences the human mind immensely. Pearl should be worn by those people who always hits upon setbacks.

Pearl mollifies obsession and mental discrepancy and reinforces the heart. It provides majestic benevolence, blessings from parents, family delight and affluence and enhances administrative qualities and visionary power. It eradicates abdominal ailments, enhances intelligence and learning capability.

Its several uses are listed in medical science. It helps those who suffer from diseases related to eyes, throat, heart, urine, hydrosol, cough, deficiency of calcium, disease related to gynaecology, indigestion, fatigue, normal disease and physical failing. By curing a person, it brings back the vibrancy on the human face. If a mother buys a pearl for her child it is much better for the child.

How to wear
It`s weight should be at least 2 Rattis (240 mg). Its worth increases with the increase in weight. Pearl should be studded in a silver ring or pendant. It should be worn ceremoniously on a monday evening, when the moon is rising, after washing with water and unboiled milk and chanting "Om Som Somaye Namah Om" or "Om Chandraya Namah" in a Lord Shiva temple. It should be worn on the smallest finger of the right hand. After finishing, rice, sugar, wheat, cloth and money should be donated to a Brahmin.

Pearl influences for 2 years 1 month and 27 days, from the very date when it is worn.

An individual whose name starts with - he, hu, hay, ho, da, dee, du, day, do should regard their sign of zodiac as Cancer and they should wear pearl.

According to western astrology, a man whose date of birth falls on 2, 11, 20, and 29 of every month, should wear pearl. A person born during the period from 16th July to 17th August should wear pearl.

A person,whose lucky numbers are 2 and 7, can also wear pearl.
