Sceptic Tank , Vastu Shastra

For the construction of the septic tanks there are certain rules according to the Vastu Shastra that must be taken into account. These are:-

  • The septic tank should not face the south-east, the north-east or the south-west corner under any condition.

  • If the north side is divided into 9 equal parts then it should be placed in the third part from the north-west direction.

  • It should not be directly touch the wall compound or the plinth of the house. It should be at least 2 feet away from the wall or the plinth.

  • Amongst the 3 parts of the septic tank water should be in the east and the excretion in the west.

  • Due to the scarcity of space, the septic tank can be built in the northern corner of the west side but that should be 2 feet away from the compound wall.

  • The length of the septic tank should be in the east-west direction and the breadth in the south-north directions.

  • The septic tank should never be higher than the plinth level of the building. It is advisable to construct it at the ground level.

  • The outlet of the septic tank should be in the north or the west directions.
