Flat system in Vastu Shastra
For an ideal living Vastu Shastra talks about some basic rules for constructing flats.

Now a days more and more people are attracted towards the cities due to rapid industrialization and job opportunities. But the total land available for buildings being limited, there is no alternative to live in the tall buildings and flats. The Edifice Science is equally applicable to flats. The underground water storages in the open space around the building, drainages, parking, compound walls and gate etc. do affect the people living in those buildings. If they are not as per the principles of Vastu shastra, the total loss is divided into the total no. of flats and the persons living in them. The loss is therefore not felt to that extent.

If corrections and alterations are made in these things as per the Vastu shastra i.e. the Edifice Science all the flat holders can be benefited as well. The profits and losses are 20% in excess to those who live on the ground floor as compared to others. This is because they are attached to the ground; therefore, the ultra-violet rays of the sun and the cosmic rays act to a larger extent to those people.

The overhead water tank on the upper most slab of the building is also very important. It is good if it is situated in the west, the south-west and the north-west direction. It is not proper if it is situated in the south-east, the north-east, the east or the north direction. These days, this tank is taken at the centre of the slab which is the place of Brahma. The tanks are given circular, pyramidal and other shapes which is totally wrong. The weight should never be concentrated at the place of Brahma. If it is so, one has to face innumerable calamities. In that case it is better to take the decision of leaving the flat. All the flat holders in the building should think over it seriously and find a way out.
