Lallgarh palace in
Bikaner is one of the many places of interest that are worth checking out. It was built by the legendary Maharaja Ganga Singhji in 1902 AD. The beauty and charm of the Lallgarh Palace is an unmatched jewel in the Thar Desert. This unique architectural marvel displays a blend of
Rajput, Muslim and European styles. An exclusive collection of old print, vintage copies of etchings, hunting trophies and the stained glass panes all add to its royal charm.
The palace was built in the memory of Maharaja Lall Singhji. The palace was, therefore, named after him. The palace is famous for its latticework and arched balconies. Presently the palace has been converted into a heritage hotel. One of the wings of the Lallgarh Palace is occupied by the royal family and the other part is the hotel.
Lallgarh Palace has a billiard room, a library, a smoking room, the fireplaces, Belgian chandeliers, cut glass ornaments, oil paintings, lamps and other items. These render a European look to the palace. Sprawling lawns with blooming
bougainvillea enhance the beauty of this monument. The exterior of the palace contrasts spectacularly with the Oriental interiors. Such a look puts it apart from most of the places of interest in Bikaner.
