Kankroli is small town located in the district of
Rajsamand. It is well known for its temple. This, too, is amongst the many places that are part of the excursion tours from Udaipur. This town is located 65 kilometers away from
Udaipur. The temple is the major attraction here. The shrine is dedicated to Lord Dwarikadhish or Krishna. For the Vaishnavas and Vallabhacharya sect the Kankroli Temple is an important pilgrimage center. It was built in the year 1676 A.D. local buses and taxis are also available to arrive at this holy shrine.
During the reign of Maharana Raj Singh the idol was consecrated in this temple in 1671 A.D. the idol of the lord was looked after by the grand son of Vallabhacharya, Shri Bal Krishna ji. As a result the Kankroli Temple is considered the third `peeth` in Vaishnavism as Pushtimarg or the way to completion. The structure of the Kankroli Temple is such that it will remind you of
Nathdwara temple. The serenity of the temple will definitely impress the travelers. Within the temple premises a garden had been built. It not only beautifies the place but also adds to that soothing effect that is predominant here. The
garden is well maintained and can be used by the devotees to relax in the lap of nature.
A library is also part of the Kankroli Temple complex. This library has a remarkable collection of old books. People from across the country gather in large numbers at Kankroli Temple around
Udaipur to seek the blessings of Lord Dwarikadhish.
