Tinu Yohannan is a right-handed batsman of the Kerala Cricket team, who has also played for the team India.

Tinu Yohannan, Kerala CricketerTinu Yohannan is a right-handed batsman of the Kerala Cricket team. He was born on February 18, 1979 in Kollam (earlier Quilon). He is also a right-arm medium-fast bowler of the Kerala team, who has played for the Indian Cricket team.

Tinu Yohannan started playing in the "First-class" cricket in 1999/00 season. Till then, he has played in altogether 51 "First-class" matches in his cricket career with an average of 11.32. His total scorecard reading in these matches is 419 runs and his highest score in any of these matches is 43 runs.

While in bowling, Tinu Yohannan has picked up total 124 wickets by losing 4304 runs out of the 8481 balls he played in the "First-class" matches. His bowling average is 34.70 and economy is 3.04 in these matches. The latest "First-class" match played by Tinu Yohannan was against Railways cricket team, which was played at Nagpur from December 25 to 29 in 2007.

In the "List A" matches, Tinu Yohannan debuted in 1999/00. He has played in overall 40 "List A" matches in his cricket career till today with an average of 6.36. His total score in these matches is 70 runs and his maximum score in any of the "List A" matches is 11 runs.

Whereas with ball in hand, Tinu Yohannan has picked up total 58 wickets by losing 1606 runs out of the 2056 balls he played in the "List A" matches. His bowling average is 27.68 and economy is 4.68 in these matches. The latest "List A" match played by Tinu Yohannan was against Tamil Nadu team, which was held at Hyderabad on February 10 in 2006.

Tinu Yohannan had his "Test match" debut against England team, which was held at Mohali from December 3 to 6 in 2001. He has played in three "Test matches" till today and has scored total 13 runs. The highest score made by Tinu Yohannan till today in any of these matches is 8 runs and his striking rate is 43.33.

While with ball in hand, Tinu Yohannan has picked up total five wickets by giving 256 runs out of the 486 balls he played in the "Test matches". His bowling average is 51.20 and economy is 3.16 in these matches. Tinu Yohannan played his latest "Test match" against New Zealand team, which was held at Hamilton from December 19 to 22 in 2002.

In the "One Day International" (ODI) matches, Tinu Yohannan debuted against West Indies, which was held at Bridgetown on May 29 in 2002. Till then, he has played in three "ODI matches" and has scored total 7 runs. His highest score in any of these matches is 5 runs and his striking rate is 63.63.

Again in bowling, Tinu Yohannan has taken five wickets by losing 122 runs from the 120 balls he played in the "ODI matches". His bowling average is 24.40 and economy is 6.10 in these matches. The latest "ODI match" played by Tinu Yohannan was against Sri Lanka, which was held Bristol on July 11 in 2002.

Tinu Yohannan is from the MRF Pace Academy. His father was a former Asian Games record-holder in long jump. Following his father, Tinu Yohannan initially engaged in athletics in high jump. He even won many gold and silver medals at the state junior level. The retirement of Javagal Srinath made a place for him in the Indian Test squad.
