Salaam-E-Ishq, Indian movie

The Indian movie, `Salaam-E-Ishq` is the story of six groups of people. The characters are from different parts of the world, from different walks of life. They are ignorant about each other`s existence, but who end up being brought together by destiny, fate and love altogether.

Salaam-E-Ishq, Indian movie The movie weaves a number of love stories together thanks to the relationships of the people within it. The film is Advani`s second directorial venture after `Kal Ho Naa Ho`.

Advani`s parable of love is nothing short of a brief history of Indian cinema, at once celebrating and parodying every Bollywood cliché about love and marriage. Deftly packaged, it is an ode to the interminable conflicts of the heart.

Synopsis of the Indian movie `Salaam-E-Ishq`
Salaam-e-Ishq is the story of six couples from different parts of the world. They are ignorant about each others` existence. But eventually they end up being brought together by destiny, fate and love. The film shows the six stories simultaneously. At first the stories are not interlinked but very soon it gets the connection as well.

The first story deals with Ashutosh played by John Abraham and Tehzeeb played by Vidya Balan. Tehzeeb wakes up in the morning to find a small diamond pendant by her bedside. This is an anniversary gift from her very romantic husband Ashutosh. Their relationship is made of sweet and saccharine moments as they seamlessly work together to make their two-year-old love marriage a success. Ashutosh is Hindu, while Tehzeeb is Muslim. Their families disapproved of their marriage, resulting in estrangement. Struggling like all young married couples in Mumbai they work in media - at a news channel. Ashutosh is a film editor while Tehzeeb is a field reporter. Completely crazy about each other they find it quite difficult to keep their hands off each other. Together they have a small happy world that is, however, soon disrupted with Tehzeeb meeting with a tragic accident. This results in her losing her memory of the past two years, including all her memories of Ashutosh. Tehzeeb decides to leave Ashutosh as she finds it impossible to remember anything. Ashutosh is left in the fragments of his love. This incident put ashu`s love and devotion to the ultimate test.

The next story comes to Raju taxiwala played by Govinda wakes up in the morning and gets into his colorful Delhi taxi. He drives from his home in Chandni Chowk to the New Delhi International Airport. Like he has for the last 15 years. He joins the long queue at the airport. Like has for the last 15 years. Unlike the other taxi drivers he does not complain about the ever-increasing queue. He has never done this even once for the last 15 years. And the reason behind this is he enjoys watching the doors of the New Delhi International Airport. Opening and closing. He enjoys watching the passengers coming out. Hoping that among them, one will be his blonde dream girl. It so happened that Raju met one blonde girl played by Shannon Esrechowitz 15 years back at New Delhi International Airport, but lost touch with her. Now, year after year, he stands in the queue for passengers and silently hopes that one of them is Stephanie. Surprisingly, one day she arrives, but not for him, but for her boyfriend Rohit Chaddha. Raju helps Stephanie find Rohit, only to learn that Rohit is getting married to a woman of his mother`s choice.

Directed by Nikhil Advani Vinay Malhotra (Anil Kapoor) wakes up in his picture perfect suburban London home every morning. He is cared for by his picture perfect wife Seema (Juhi Chawla), and his picture perfect daughters kiss him goodbye. He goes to his picture perfect London PR job and returns to his picture perfect wife, daughters and home. But things are going to change... Because Vinay Malhotra meets the not so perfect Anjali (Anjana). Unconventional, over-confident and extremely determined, Anjali comes from a world that Vinay only dreams off. A world where the very modern single girl living in London gets what she wants... And Anjali wants Vinay Malhotra...

From Delhi, the story moves to London where we meet a middle aged couple. Vinay Malhotra played by Anil Kapoor and Seema played by Juhi Chawla are introduced. Theirs is a happy and stable family, a family that has all the luxuries of suburban life including two children, one boy and one girl. Vinay has all he needs, yet is restless and quickly growing bored of his average middle-class life. This is when he comes across Anjali played by Anjana Sukhani who is a modern London-based girl with unmatchable confidence and determination. Unconventional, over-confident and extremely determined, Anjali comes from a world that Vinay only dreams off. A world where the very modern single girl living in London gets what she wants. And Anjali wants Vinay Malhotra. Vinay is not sure of what he wants, and begins an affair with Anjali. When he realises that he is making a mistake, and starts to avoid her. She goes to his office one day to invite him to Paris with her. While the two are talking, Seema walks in and finds out about the affair. When the couple reach home, they discuss what has happened, and Vinay says that he wants more out of life. Seema says she only wants him to be content, and decides to leave Vinay. She leaves the country with her children to attend her younger sister Gia`s played by Ayesha Takia wedding. Vinay goes for a walk to sort out his problems as he becomes too confused of his life.

Gia played by Ayesha Takia and her fiance Shiven played by Akshaye Khanna have problems of their own. They are engaged, but Shiven gets cold feet. After all, his privacy is in danger here. One day he wakes up to a nightmare. The most consummate bechelor in New Delhi has suddenly realized what is in store for him. He breaks the engagement and, in the process, Gia`s heart as well. All is well except for one as Shiven wants Gia back as he has realized what she means to him. Gia is heartbroken, and her father arranges her marriage with Rohit, Stephanie`s ex-boyfriend. Shiven tells Gia that he loves her and asks her to come back to him. She refuses, and tells him that she is marrying someone else. Shiven is devastated, and doesn`t know what to do. Later, he accidentally runs overTehzeeb who went missing after running away from Ashutosh. When he takes her back to his house along with Ashutosh, he sees how much the couple love each other, and realises that he loves Gia too much to let her marry someone else.

Produced by Mukesh Talreja The story moves to the world of superstars. A `superstar` who goes by the name of Kamini played by Priyanka Chopra has only one hitch. She is a superstar but only as an item girl rather than being a full blown heroine. She wants to be there at all costs but can`t really avoid the media who are after her to pick up one scandal after another. But now she has decided to come up with an ultimate plan, a plan that would propel her to the position of a numero uno heroine. A dream role in Karan Johar`s film. She devises a plot to change her image by announcing that she`s into a serious relationship with a fictitious character Rahul. The arrival of a stranger claiming to be Rahul played by Salman Khan in her life may just about change things for her. Rahul demand 1 crore, and Kamini reluctantly agrees as Kamini doesn`t want her lie to be caught, so she pretends to be in love with Rahul. After some times, she begins to fall in love with Rahul.

Then Rahul proposes to her in front of the media, and she accepts. Rahul then says that he will pretend to die. Rahul reveals later to Kamini that he has loved her since before she was famous, because she use to sing at a hotel, and he fell in love with her. He even tells all the likings and dislikings of Kamini which no one knows about her. Kamini becomes overwhelmed. Rahul asks Kamini to marry him, but at the cost of her career. She wants to agree, but at that moment, her secretary comes in and says that Karan Johar is announcing his next film. In a rush Kamini says that she must be selected for it, and Rahul says that he will pretend to die. Kamini is confused so she rushes back to the hotel, but when she reaches there, she finds that Rahul has already left, and she is surrounded by media asking her questions about Rahul`s death. Kamini begins to cry, and her secretary realises that she loves Rahul. The secretary suggests that they go looking for Rahul. She is still confused, and then she meets Vinay in a coffee shop at 2 am. Kamini tells Vinay about the lie. They discuss their problems, and Vinay tells her that she should stop Rahul from leaving. Kamini also advices Vinay about his relatioship. She make Vinay understand that this is not love what he is feeling for Anjali. Rather that is mere infatualtion. But the love with his wife is the real one and he should save this for the sake of his wife and children.

From superstars, the setting changes to ordinary men and women of which Ramdayal played by Sohail Khan and Phoolwati played by Ishaa Koppikar are a part of a newly wed couple. Ramdayal is a simple lower middle class Haryanvi. They can`t spend any night together as on the very first day fire broke out in their bed and till then they are facing problems one after the other. He wants to spend every hour fulfilling the lust that has been building up within him all these years. But things are going to change. Ramdayal and Phoolwati want to spend all their time in each other`s arms, especially Ramdayal who has been waiting for such times forever. But then desires are not always meant to be fulfilled and what happens in the bargain are some funny moments that could even be termed tragic to an extent.

The movie has a happy ending as all the stories get a proper end. Ashutosh and Tehzeeb decide to live together though she does not remember him still she can understand that he loves him a lot. And that is the reason she decide to live with him. Raju and Stephanie becomes together as she understands that Rohit is not the right person for her and she goes to Raju.
