Iruppu Falls in Karnataka is situated in the Western Ghats, Karnataka. The travelers can witness the plummeting cascade of white water tumbling down from a height of 170 feet above sea level Iruppu Falls presents a spectacular sight. This waterfall in Karnataka originates from Brahmagiri Mountain. The thundering noise with which the waterfall touches the ground makes the otherwise serene region vibrant. This natural splendor is worth a visit. The Brahmagiri Mountains are located in South Kodagu. As the flowing stream touches the ground it is known as Lakshmana tirtha falls.

Iruppu Falls lies at a distance of 14 kilometers from Nagarhole. Iruppu or Irpu Falls area associated with a legend. Lord Ram and Lakshmana reached this place while searching for Sita. They were thirsty. In order to quench their thirst Lakshmana shot an arrow into the Brahmagiri Mountain and out came the river. Later Lord Ram dedicated the place to Lord Shiva and that is how the temple came into existence.
