Sri Kaliswari College is a premier college on Arts and Science in the whole South India. Keeping in mind a vision for contributing to the cause of imparting quality education and knowledge, Sri Kaliswari Trust has started this college for the youth, so that they can make this world a better place to live in. The Government of Tamil Nadu `in its G.O.No.190 dated 07-06-2000`, gave the approval of starting this college in the academic session of 2000-2001. The college is affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University. Earlier it had begun its journey by offering only 3 courses. Today the curriculum comprises twelve courses at undergraduate level; six postgraduate courses and also two research programmes. The undergraduate courses include- B.Com, B.Com with Computer Application, Bachelors in Business Administration, Bachelors in Science, Bachelors in Hotel Management and Catering Science, B.A - Tamil, B.Sc in subjects like Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Information Technology; Bachelors in Computer Application.

M.Com, M.Sc in Computer science, M.A - Tamil, M.Sc in subjects like Maths, Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Biotechnology are also offered to the eligible candidates. One also can opt for M.Phil Programme with specialisations in Commerce or Biotechnology. Apart from these, Certificate Courses like Communicative and Functional English, Computer Application, Advertising, Sales Promotion and Sales Management, Industrial Safety, Fire works and Safety Matches, Gandhian Thought, Journalism, are offered, suiting the needs of the pupil. Sri Kaliswari College campus is laid out on an area spanning 17.5 acres. It is put up in a 3-storied majestic building on the Sivakasi Virudhunagar Highway, lying at a distance of nearly seven km from Sivakasi. Sri Kaliswari College has an excellent infrastructure including classrooms, laboratories, library, conference hall, hostels and playground, that are built applying state-of-the-art methods with aesthetic appeal and glory. It is a turning point in the field of architecture of the new era.

There are several facilities provided to the students as well. Individual hostels for men and women with updated services are accessible within the campus. A mineral water plant is present for proving facilities of pure drinking water, 24 hrs. Lodgers can avail both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals. Scope is also provided for the amusement of students. A reading room with numerous books, magazines, newspapers and television with cable connections are provided to the students. Attention also is paid to look after their physical fitness. For instance students have the habit of waking up early in the morning and workout some fitness exercises or simply play games. Interestingly every year, the Hostel day is celebrated with huge pomp and grandeur.

Regular buses ply from Virudhunagar and Sivakasi to Sri Kaliswari College. For proper commutation, students can take bus services from Virudhunagar, Srivilliputtur, Rajapalayam, Sattur, Vembakottai and Sivakasi. The college is located at Meenakshipuram, Anaikuttam Post , Sivakasi - 626 130, Tamil Nadu, India. Sri Kaliswari College comprises various departments like Department of Tamil, Department of English, Department of Commerce, Department of Management Studies, Department of Computer Science, IT & BCA, Department of Mathematics, Department of Biotechnology, Department of Chemistry, Department of Physics, Department of Hotel Management and Catering Science, Department of Physical Education. In order to keep pace with the standard of providing quality education, a team of efficient and qualified faculty members are working hard to the best of their abilities.

Sri Kaliswari College has a well-stocked library providing spacious and serene ambience to its readers. It has a huge collection of sixteen hundred books, well placed in spacious shelves, that are allotted for various disciplines. In addition, seventy-three magazines, including sixteen Tamil and fifty-seven English magazines, thirty seven journals, 3 Bulletins and 9 News papers- including five Tamil, three English and one in Malayalam are subscribed. Apart from these magazines of national standard, Sri Kaliswari College also takes subscription to seven international journals. The Library is open from 8.30 a.m. to 5.45 p.m.

Medical facilities are given to the students of Sri Kaliswari College. Both for male and female qualified doctors are allotted, who attend male students on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The rest of the days are given for treating all the women lodgers as and when required. Thus, healths of the students are well taken care of.

Sri Kaliswari College`s Internet And Multimedia Centre is functional and is of great benefit for the students and staffs alike. To top it all, a Language laboratory with twenty-two high-end configuration systems have been installed separately for the students so that they can polish up their communication skills.

Since emphasis is given for improving the overall personality of the students, a separate NSS unit has opened up for both male and female students of Sri Kaliswari College. On a yearly basis, exclusive camps for training volunteers are organised at a stretch for ten long days. Besides there are specific activities that are allotted to the female and male wings individually. N.S.S wing for boys deals with aspects like sanitation, self-employment etc. Regarding N.S.S unit for girls, issues like Aids awareness, Consumer Awareness, Women empowerment is dealt quite efficiently.

Youth Red Cross-- Every year blood donations are organised jointly with the Government Hospital, Indian Medical Association, Virudhunagar and Lions club. The college students voluntarily donate their blood to the Govt. Blood Bank.

Holistic development centre-- This Centre of Sri Kaliswari College does a good job by successfully organising various awareness programmes and events.

Red ribbon club-- As per Governmental direction of Tamil Nadu, the Red Ribbon Club has been established to create awareness about HIV/AIDS among the youth in the college.

Junior jaycees wing-- Junior Jaycee wing of Sri Kaliswari College began its journey with the noble objective of imparting leadership qualities amongst the students. In other words, this wing helps every person to become aware of their talents and achieve success in life.

Vivekananda kendra-- Every year the Vivekananda Kendra organises examinations for the students on cultural studies. Two other clubs, namely Rotract Club and Exnora Club also remain busy throughout the year.

Fine arts-- Several competitions were conducted in the fine arts section. The Placement and Career Guidance Cell initiates active steps for job opportunities of the students in renowned organisations.
