Located in Gulbarga, Karnataka, haranabasaveshwara is a much venerated Hindu temple.

Sharanabasaveshwara Shrine, KarnatakaSharanabasaveshwara Shrine is located in Gulbarga, Karnataka. This Hindu temple has been built in the memory of Basavashwara, reformer and saint. To witness this antique building the travelers need to arrive at Gulbarga. Gulbarga is a unique blend of two cultures-Hindu and Mughal. On one hand one will find Khwaja Syed Mohammad Gesu, mausoleum of Feroze Shah, Haft-Gumbuz, Sultan Hasan`s tomb, Khwaja Bande Nawaz, Ghias Ud Din`s tomb, lawns of Mahboob Gulshan and on the other hand there is the temple of Shri Sharanabasaveshwara.

The Samadhi of this saint is to be found here. Sharanabasaveshwara Shrine is one of those monuments in South India, which epitomizes Indian culture. Traditions and religion are an indispensable part of Indian history. Sharanabasaveshwara Shrine in Karnataka testifies to the fact that the subcontinent has witnessed numerous sages and wise men who, in turn, have contributed to her spiritual growth.

Sharanabasaveshwara Shrine, Karnataka had been constructed two centuries back. This exquisite piece of art suffered damage during the invasions by the army of the Nizam(Hyderabad). These men were called the Razakaars. The members of both the communities visit the temple. A Pancha Loha Kalasha was consecrated in the temple and this was made of gold.

The Sharanabasaveshwara Shrine is accessible from Bangalore, Bidar, Bijapur, Hyderabad and Basavakalyan.
