Phir Milenge, Indian movie
`Phir Milenge`, the Indian movie is directed by Revathy taking up the issues of AIDS and its impact.

The Indian movie, `Phir Milenge` is directorial piece of the South Indian actress-director Revathy. The movie starring Salman Khan, Shilpa Shetty and Abhishek Bachchan is not a movie that will spread a wide awareness of AIDS. It takes up the issue of AIDS by showing the impact the disease has upon the lives of those infected with the virus. It takes the audience into the lives of these characters and shows how they are socially ostracized and shunned by those who were once close and dear.

This Bollywood movie `Phir Milenge` also highlights the struggle of a girl to fight for her rights against all odds and shows that there are people who would come forward to support the cause of an HIV+ girl fighting for her rights in a `civil` society that does not discriminate on the basis of a disease. The film `Phir Milenge` looks inspired from the Hollywood motion picture `Philadelphia` that got Tom Hanks an Oscar statuette. There is a short romance between Salman and Shilpa in the first half. In the second half, there is a subtle relation growing between Shilpa and Abhishek as well.

Synopsis of `Phir Milenge`
Phir Milenge, Indian movieTamanna Sahni played by Shilpa Shetty is a dedicated staff member of a top advertising agency, her ideas and designs have mainly contributed to the success of the agency. She breathes fresh air into the lives of everyone she meets. She leaves for a college reunion and meets her college sweetheart Rohit played by Salman Khan. They rekindle their love for each other and share some intimate moments together. Eventually Rohit leaves and Tamanna settles back into her normal daily routine.

When her sister, Tanya, has an accident she decides to give her own blood to save her. However her doctor, Dr. Raisingh played by Revathi, tells her that she has been tested positive for HIV. Tamanna`s world turns upside down and she desperately tries to get into contact with Rohit but in vain as she realises that she catches HIV from Rohit since that`s been her only sexual experience. Her situation is soon spread around the office and she eventualy loses her job. Angered by her unfair dissmissal she searches for a lawyer to fight her case. Eventually Tarun Anand played by Abhishek Bachchan agrees to represent her. Tarun is a dynamic lawyer who takes on her case and fights for Tamanna`s right. Once Tamanna comes face to face with the broken man Rohit who tranmitted her the disease. As Tamanna approaches the guy whom she loves a lot, her bitterness and repressed rage dissolves into a binding compassion for the man who has snatched away her life. The film lastly experiences a happy ending as tamanna gets justice with proper position in the office. Tarun becomes successful as lawyer for the first time as he won the case and Tamanna is expected to lead a happy life as long as she lives in this beautiful world.

The film exposes the inadequacy of existing anti-discrimination law in India and the bigotry faced by people with the disease as well.
