It has a vista of fields for badminton, tennis, basketball, volleyball, and vast areas for athletics forming an integral part of the campus of this college campus.

The student hostel is built in the lap of greenery, comprising nearly two hundred and forty students. Ideally located, cultural literary hub of the state, theatres, galleries, museums is easily commutable from this college area.

Both at under graduate and post graduation level, students can enroll themselves in several courses offered by Lady Irwin College. These include B.Sc. (Pass) Home Science, Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Education (Special Education) MR. In postgraduate level one can also pursue courses like Post- Graduate Diploma in Dietetics and Public Health Nutrition, M.Sc in Home Science with specialisations like Food and Nutrition, Community Resource Management and Extension, Child Development, Textiles and Clothing. Lady Irwin College also offers Ph.D programmes.

Lady Irwin College has an excellent faculty associated with different departments of the college. These highly qualified academicians are also called forth for leading research projects of renowned institutes like University Grants Commission, (UGC), Government departments, National and International agencies.

The well-equipped library of Lady Irwin College pursues value of learning, creativity and prudence and thus empowers its readers to stay associated with the resources through networks. It has a specialised collection in the field of Home Science, supporting research and teaching especially in this genre. The library has over 46,500 volumes including one thousand seven hundred and fifty M.Sc dissertations and also over seven thousand hardbound files of periodicals. Apart from Home Science, books on subjects like Food Technology, Food Science, Human growth and development, children with special needs, Gender Studies, Women’s Studies, apparel and Fashion Designing, Sociology, Psychology, Communication, Management, Applied Science and many more is stocked in the book shelves of the library. Apart from these, the library subscribes to nearly eighty-five educational periodicals published in the country and abroad. It is wholly computerised. Hostel accommodation is available for the outstation students who have local guardians in Delhi. Situated in the core of the college, the Computer Resource Centre (CRC) provides high-tech computer facilities to both teachers and students of Lady Irwin College. The college placement cell successfully organises placement events occasionally so that the students are well placed in various sectors.

The College has a tradition of serving the community at large. So it does not leave any stone unturned to serve the demands of the underpriviledged and also organises various developmental programmes for assisting them. Students participate in social work with great enthusiasm like adult education under the National Service Scheme. The Student Association of Lady Irwin College facilitates active co-operation among community members’ thereby fostering interests in all the college activities. Special mention may be made of the Rajkumari Amrit Kaur Child Study Centre formed in 1955 as a laboratory for the ‘Department of Human Development & Childhood Studies’ of Lady Irwin College. Facilities were extended to children of special needs in 1980 in order to provide a susceptible ambience to them for varied learning capabilities. Presently it accommodates nearly two hundred children, together with fifty children having numerous disabilities.
