More than 20 international airports and various domestic airports are there in the country. Airports Authority of India administers most of the airport throughout the country. Some of most important airports are-

Vir Savarkar Airport --- Vir Savarkar Airport or Port Blair Airport is situated in Port Blair on the Andaman Islands. The airport was named after the Indian freedom fighter Vir Savarkar.

Sri Sathya Sai Airport --- Sri Sathya Sai Airport is a very small airport which facilities chartered flights more than commercial aircrafts.

Rajahmundry Airport--- Rajahmundry Airport is located at Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, India. Only Air Deccan (Hyderabad, Chennai, Vijayawada) operates flights from the airport.

Vijaywada Airport--- Vijaywada Airport is located at Vijayawada Andhra Pradesh, India. Air Deccan (Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore) and Kingfisher Airlines (Hyderabad) are the only two airlines that operate from Vijaywada Airport.

Warangal Airport --- Warangal Airport is located in Andhra Pradesh, India. The airport was reopened on December 2007. Airports Authority of India is expected to complete upgradations of the airport within two years.

Dibrugarh Airport --- Dibrugarh Airport is located in Assam, India. Air Deccan (Guwahati, Kolkata); Indian Airlines (Kolkata); Jetlite (Guwahati, New Delhi, Patna) and Kingfisher Airlines (Kolkata, New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai (via Hyderabad)) are the airlines operating to and from Dibrugarh Airport.

Karnal Airport --- Karnal Airport is also known as Karnal flying club. It is a small airstrip situated about 3 km east of the Karnal city, in Haryana. The illustrious name of astronaut Kalpana Chawla is also associated with the airport as she had first received her aviation interests from here.

Sheikh Ul Alam International Airport --- Sheikh Ul Alam International Airport is better known as Srinagar Airport. It is situated in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India. The airport serves Air Deccan (Delhi, Jammu), Indian (Delhi, Jammu, Leh), Jet Airways (Delhi, Jammu), Kingfisher Airlines (Delhi), Jetlite (Delhi), GoAir (Delhi, Jammu, Mumbai), Spicejet (Delhi, Jammu).

Bellary Airport --- Bellary Airport mainly serves the city of Bellary in Karnataka, India. During the British Period the airport used to serve as an air strip particularly during World War II. Only Air Deccan operates flights from Bangalore to the airport.
