Hampi festival is celebrated in the ruins of Hampi to remember the good old days of the Vijayanagara Kings.

Hampi festival, Vijaya Utsav, KarnatakaHampi festival is widely celebrated in the ancient city of Vijayanagara. The festival commences from the month of November. Several people from the field of art, dance and music flock to Hampi. This festival here is commonly known as Vijaya Utsav. The festival is held from 3rd to 5th November every year. It was under the reign of the Vijayanagara kingdom that Hampi rose to power and glory. As a result this festival is celebrated to commemorate those golden days.

During the rule of the Vijayanagara rulers Hampi festival was celebrated with a lot of fervor. In those days such a festival was celebrated to mark the rich cultural heritage of Karnataka. In the recent years the festival is still celebrated in the ruins of Hampi. This festival comprise of drama, music and dance. Artistes from across the country come here to participate in Hampi festival, Karnataka. The local artistes here depict the life of the native people. Hampi festival today is celebrated to recreate the opulence of the olden days. Puppet shows, dance programs, musical shows, drama and other programs are held during this festival.

Shopping centers are also scattered throughout the town. Traditional shopping centers are easily accessible here. During Hampi festival, Karnataka, all the historical monuments are decorated and lit up.
