Laxmi Ratan Shukla is a right-handed batsman of West Bengal Cricket team. He is also known by the name `Bittu`. He was born on May 6 in 1981 in Howrah, West Bengal.

This right-handed batsman of Bengal team has also played for team India. LR Shukla is a Right-arm medium pacer, who had his "First-class" match debut in 1997/98 against Maharashtra. At that time he was in his teens and made the Indian Under-19 team for the MTN Youth World Cup in South Africa in 1998. Lakshmi Ratan Shukla attracted the attention of the selectors with his match-winning century as an Opener of Bengal team in the "Wills Trophy" semi-final against Delhi. In early 2000, Shukla was taken as a trainee for the "National Cricket Academy" but injuries made him to leave that.

Laxmi Ratan Shukla, West Bengal Cricketer Laxmi Ratan Shukla has played in altogether 86 "First-class" matches with an average of 31.62. His total score in the "First-class" matches is 3415 runs, which includes two centuries and 24 half-centuries. L R Shukla`s maximum score in any of these matches is 141 runs. While, with ball in hand, he has picked up 102 wickets by losing 3806 runs from 7747 balls he played in the "First-class" matches. His bowling average is 37.31 and economy is 4.39 in these matches. He played his latest "First-class" match against Andhra Pradesh from December 25 to 27 in 2007, which was held at Kolkata.

The "List A" match debut of Laxmi Ratan Shukla was in 1998/99. He has played in overall 81 "List A" matches with an average of 29.16. The "List A" match scorecard of L R Shukla reads a total score of 1633 runs. He made his highest score of 136 runs in any of these matches. LR Shukla has made one century and eight half-centuries in his "List A" match career till today. Again, with ball in hand, he has taken 79 wickets by giving 1978 runs out of 2699 balls he played in these matches. Shukla`s bowling average is 25.03 and economy is 4.39. His latest "List A" match was against Karnataka on March 17 in 2007, which was held at Dharamsala.

Laxmi Ratan Shukla debuted in the "Twenty20" matches against Assam held at Kolkata on April 3 in 2007. He has played in seven "Twenty20" matches with an average of 43.25. His total score in these matches is 173 runs and his striking rate is 131.06. LR Shukla` highest score in any of these matches is 76 runs. His scorecard includes one half-century, 11 fours and 6 sixes. Whereas in bowling, he has picked up eight wickets by losing 141 runs from 114 balls he played. LR Shukla`s bowling average is 17.62 and economy is 7.42. The latest "Twenty20" match of Shukla was against Mumbai held at Ahmedabad on April 19 in 2007.

The first "One Day International" match of Laxmi Ratan Shukla was against Sri Lanka at Nagpur on March 22 in 1999. He has played in overall three ODI matches with an average of 9.00. The total score of LR Shukla in these matches is 18 runs and his striking rate is 94.73. While in bowling, he has picked up only one wicket by giving 94 runs out of 114 balls he played in the ODI matches. His bowling average is 94.00 and economy is 4.94 in these matches. Laxmi Ratan Shukla played his latest ODI match against West Indies at Singapore on September 5 in 1999.
