Jaisalmer Airport is situated in Jaisalmer in Rajashthan. Basically it is an Indian Air Force Base. No commercial and Charter flights are allowed from this airport. VIJR is the ICAO code for Jaisalmer Airport and IATA code description is JSA. The Jaisalmer Airport has a single runway of 9000 feet length and 150 feet width and it is made of concrete. Various attempts have been made to operate commercial flights from Jaisalmer Airport, but border tensions with Pakistan have proven to be knotty. Air India and Kingfisher Airlines are the only two carriers that have flown to/from the airport.
