Indian movie actor Govinda is a talented and hard working actor who has presently joined politics and doing his charisma there. The actors` real name was Govind Arun Ahuja. Born on December 21, 1963 in Virar, Maharashtra the actor is popularly known as Govinda. He has started his film career with his debut in `Ilzaam` in the year 1986, he has acted in over 120 Hindi films all through. His first film was a huge success in his career. In 2004, he joined politics, winning a parliamentary seat from Mumbai. His parents were former actor Arun Ahuja and singer Nirmala Arun Ahuja. He studied at Annasaheb Vartak College in Vasai, Maharashtra. His elder brother Kirti Kumar is an actor cum director who has also appeared in some of Govinda`s films. Kirti Kumar has also directed his brother in some films remarkably `Hatya` in the year 1988. He married Sunita Govind Ahuja according to his mother`s choice on 11 March 1987 and has two children with her. He has been one of the most successful comedy actors in Bollywood. He is also a tremendous dancer. His dancing steps are still copied by some of the prominent stars of Bollywood. Govinda made a comeback to films with the comedy film `Bhagam Bhag` along with co-actor Akshay Kumar that was a real success. It happened in the year 2006. His first 2007 release was the huge multi-starrer `Salaam-e-Ishq: A Tribute To Love`. Govinda was praised for his performance as well. His latest 2007 release is the David Dhawan directed romantic comedy `Partner`, with his favourite co-actor Salman Khan. Though in this film the role of Salman was far more impressive still Govinda also attracted a lot viewers towards him. Katrina Kaif who was Salman`s off screen heroin was against to Govinda. The film did huge business in box office in 2007.
