Akash Chopra is a right-handed batsman of Delhi Cricket team and played in team India as an opener in many matches.

Akash Chopra is a right-handed batsman of Delhi Cricket team. He is also a player of team India and opened in many matches. He was born on September 19, 1977 in Agra, Uttar Pradesh.

Akash Chopra has also played for Marylebone Cricket Club. He bowls both in right-arm medium and right-arm offbreak style. He plays with a technique and perfect temperament. Akash Chopra`s performance became low at the end of the 2002-03 because of a right-knee injury. But then he started new season with a sound batting in the "two-Test series" at home against New Zealand. For that, he got the chance to open with Virender Sehwag against Australia. He provided strong opening partnership with his Delhi teammate Sehwag.

Akash Chopra Akash Chopra debuted in the "List A" matches in 1996/97. He has played in overall 42 "List A" matches with an average of 39.52. His total score in these matches is 1423 runs, which includes two centuries and 12 half-centuries. Akash Chopra`s maximum score in any of the "List A" matches is 109 runs. Whereas in bowling, he has picked up one wicket by giving 58 runs from 84 balls. His bowling average is 58.00 and economy is 4.14. Akash Chopra`s latest "List A" match was against Pakistan at Delhi on November 2 in 2007.

The "First-class" match debut of Akash Chopra was in 1997/98. He has played in overall 116 "First-class" matches with an average of 45.99. His total score in these matches is 7957 runs, which includes 21 centuries and 41 half-centuries. Akash Chopra`s highest score in any of the "First-class" matches is 239 runs and striking rate is 34.60. While with ball in hand, he has picked up total six wickets by losing 199 runs out of 372 balls he played. His bowling average is 33.16 and economy is 3.20. Akash Chopra`s latest "First-class" match was against South Zone at Ahmedabad from January 26 to 28 in 2008.

Akash Chopra had his "Test match" debut against New Zealand at Ahmedabad from October 8 to 12 in 2003. He has played altogether 10 "Test matches" with an average of 23.00. His total score in these matches is 437 runs and striking rate is 34.60. Akash Chopra`s highest score in any of the "Test matches" is 60 runs. His "Test match" scorecard includes two half-centuries and 49 fours. Akash Chopra played his "Test match" against Australia, which was held at Nagpur from October 26 to 29 in 2004. He was discarded from the team after a poor performance in this match. Since then he is opening for India A in the unofficial Tests against South Africa.
