The Indian film director Sooraj Barjatya hails from Rajasthan and is a Marwari. He is a famous for his landmark productions produces under the Rajshri productions founded by his late grandfather Tarachand Barjatya in 1947. He made his directorial debut with Maine Pyar Kiya in the year 1989 starring Salman Khan which was a huge box office hit and launched both his and Salman`s career. He teamed up with Salman again for Hum Aapke Hain Kaun in 1994 which became one of the highest all time blockbusters and Hum Saath-Saath Hain: We Stand United in1999 which was a semi-hit. His fourth film Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon starring Hrithik Roshan was the first film directed by him to fail at the box office. He bounced back with his latest film Vivah in 2006 starring Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao, which has proved to be one of the biggest blockbusters in his career since Hum Aapke Hain Kaun. He has named the lead actor of all his movies `Prem`. Director Sooraj Barjatya has written almost all the films of his career as for example Vivah, Hum aapke hain Kaun, Maine Pyar Kiya, etc. He has shown very cute love story in Maine Pyar Kiya and also Hum aapke Hain Kaun. He is a simple man with simple thoughts. In his films he never show complicated politics or something like that. He value culture and tradition very much and in all his films it has been depicted very nicely.
