Phyang Monastery, Leh, Jammu & Kashmir Situated at the Leh- Kargil road, Phyang Monastery is a holy shrine.
Phyang is situated 17km from Leh, on the Leh-Kargil Road. It was built by Tashi Namgyal in the later half of the 16th century, which looks like a palace from a distance. Phyang gompa belongs to the Red Cap sect of the Buddhists. Hundreds of idols of Lord Buddha are neatly arranged on wooden shelves, a neat view to witness as visitors.
