The state of Rajasthan has a large number of medical colleges. All the medical colleges in Rajasthan are working with some common objectives like spreading the light of medical education in the state and providing the researchers with enough facilities. The oldest medical college in Rajasthan is the SMS Medical College, established in 1947 and after that; a large number of medical colleges were established in the state, between the 1960s and 1980s. Some of the prominent medical colleges in Rajasthan are SMS Medical College, RNT Medical College, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Sardar Patel Medical College, National Institute of Ayurveda etc. Most of these medical colleges have some associating hospitals attached to them, so that they can provide practical education and internship programmes for their students.
