This Indian movie `Kalyug` is known as a contemporary day version of the epic Mahabharata. Today`s famous actress Urmila Matondkar played the role of a child artist in the Indian movie `Kalyug`. The characterizations of the critical events are screened very beautifully throughout the movie.

Plot of `Kalyug`:
The Indian movie `Kalyug` was produced by Shashi Kapoor who played an important part in the movie as well. Shashi Kapoor played the role as Karna is a real delight to see. The role of Karna is very tough and Shashi Kapoor has done the role tremendously good. He dose complete justice with the character played by him. The character is forced to live like an orphan in spite of having parents. Being abandoned by mother and father he survives by his friend`s kindness. This is a tough job to portray the character but Shashi does this with natural way.

There are some unforgettable scenes in this film. Where he meets Anant in a gathering, when he faces Bhishma or when his true identity is revealed, all of these are masterpieces. Victor Banerjee has played the role of modern-day Duryodhan. He is a perfect frustrate to the unemotional Karna. He is a man who is always attracted by competition and also committed to his success and development. The actor has performed his role brilliantly.

Rekha played the role of modern Draupadi who has been the real choice of the director. She played the role to her best when her son Abhimanyu`s dies and she tries to comfort Reema Lagoo. Reema eventually pushed her and blames that she killed her son. Raj Babbar played the role of Yudhisthir and Kulbhushan Kharbanda is the Bhima of contemporary depiction of Mahabharata. They have been cast fine and played their character well. Amrish Puri and Om Puri are also best at their roles. Sushma Seth and Vijaya Mehta play the role of family members of two warring clans. They act impressively. Sushma plays the modern day Kunti and plays the role very well. She takes it to its height. Urmila Matondkar appears in the film as a child artiste. A K Hangal has done a great role as Bhishma. Supriya Pathak played the role of a young woman. She is married Anant who is much older to him. Rajshri Sarabhai played the role of Victor`s silent wife. Anant Nag has played the role of Arjun in the movie.

These are really refreshing and complement the screenplay to perfection as well.
