J. P. Dutta is a veteran Indian film director who has given some milestone films to the Indian film Industry.

 J. P. Dutta, Bollywood Director J P Dutta, an Indian film director, was born on October 3, 1949 in Mumbai. He is also popularly known as a film producer. Mr. Dutta produces his films under the banner of JP Films. He is known for directing many patriotic war films and films in the action genre. These things have always got enough importance in his films. He always takes a collection of stars to create an impact over the audience. Some of the remarkable Bollywood Hindi films that he has written, produced and directed are Border, Refugee, LOC Kargil and Umrao Jaan.

J P Dutta is the son of famous director O.P. Dutta who was alos the story writer and dialogue writer in Bollywood films. O.P. Dutta has also written dialogues for most of J P Dutta`s films. In his personal life J P Dutta is married to the Bollywood film actress Bindiya Goswami with whom he has two daughters Nidi and Siddhi. His full name is Jyoti Prakash Dutta. J. P. Dutta is a man of principle and never compromise with his work. He is not at all biased about anything. His work has a touch for which he is quite famous.

Indian film director, J. P. Dutt`a films are often award winners. His LOC: Kargil was nominated for filmfare awards where he won the best director awards. In the year of 1998 J.P.Dutta has won the Filmfare award as best director for `Border`. Dutta has also won the screen award for Border.
