Shweta Pandit can be reckoned as one of the accomplished Indian playback singer in Bollywood. She started her career in the field of playback singing at the tender age of five years. Her first assignment was with maestro Ilaiyaraja. Under his music direction, Shweta sang in the film Anjali. Apart from being an accomplished singer she also carries an identity of being the niece of the Jatin-Lalit duo.

Early life of Shweta Pandit
Shweta Pandit studied at Utpal Shanghvi School and then at Mithibai College. She has been born into a family of great music maestros. Her great grandfather, Pandit Motiram was the Hindustani Classical Legend of Rajasthan and Haryana. Her great-uncle is Padma Vibhushan and Pandit Jasraj. Her Father, Vishwaraj Pandit is a Classical Tabla Player and was a Music Director in the late 70`s and early 80`s. Shweta`s aunt Sulakshana Pandit was a popular singer. She also acted in few movies `Uljhan`, `Sankoch`, `Manoranjan.`

Shweta Pandit is the youngest child and has an elder brother, Yash Pandit and elder sister, Shrradha Pandit and Composer with Hollywood film, Hisss (2010).

Career of Shweta Pandit
Shweta Pandit has sung in various films even as a child-singer including `Pardes`, `Raju Chacha`, `Dil Kya Kare`, `Saaz` and many more. Shweta got her first break with Yash Raj Films with `Mohabbatein` in 2000 with 5 leading songs at the age of 12.

Her popular songs are from Aditya Chopra`s `Neal n Nikki` 2005, Shweta Pandit has lend her voice for films like, `Partner` (2007); `Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna` (2006); `Fight Club - Members Only` (2006); Dharmendra`s `Yamla Pagla Deewana` 2011, David Dhawan`s Partner 2007, Anees Bazmee`s `Welcome` 2007 and `Sarkar Raj` 2009, Karan Johar`s `Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna` 2006 etc.

Her Debut Album was `Main Zindagi Hoon` which was released when she was only 16 years old. Her other albums include `Aplam Chaplam - the Star Mix.` It was a remix album of the early Bollywood songs. Shweta has also lent her voice for various TV Commercials. She has sung in various Indian and Western languages and ha performed throughtout the world in many concerts. She has also performed in the Indian TV music show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa in 1996.

Shweta won the The Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer (Telugu, South Awards) for the Film Kotha Bangaru Lokam for the Super Hit Song Nenani Neevani.
