Sharda
Sharda is a gifted playback singer who has bagged the honour of launching the first pop album in the scenario of Indian

During the 60s and 70s, an accomplished singer was there in Bollywood film industry who had carved a niche for herself. She was Sharda. For the sizzling cabaret song "Baat zara hai aapas ki" from the film `Jahan Pyar Miley`(released in the year 1970), she fetched the Filmfare Best Female Playback Singer award. Sharda was born to a family of conservative brahmin who originally hail from Tamil Nadu. She possessed a passion for music since her childhood. With the song "Titli udi in Suraj" (1966), she was inducted permanently into the Bollywood film industry. Famous music director duo Shanker-Jaikishen promoted her in films relentlessly.

The song "Titli udi" became a super hit song in 1966. Afterwards she sang in each and every composition composed by Shanker. She sang for the very last time in "Kaanch ki Deewar"(released in 1987).
