1982 Nehru Cup The Nehru Cup of 1982 was the first edition of the Nehru Cup. It was held from February 16 to March 3, in Calcutta. A total of 6 teams participated in the tournament being invited by the AIFF. The tournament was played in a round-robin style with the top two in the final standings then meeting in a final match to crown the champions. Also amateur teams and 'B' sides from Europe were invited to participate in this tournament. Nehru Cup Final of 2012 The 2012 Nehru Cup Final was a match that took place on 2nd September 2012 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi, India, between India and Cameroon. India won the match in the penalty shoot out at 5-4 after the match ended on 2-2 after 120 minutes. India became the winner for the third successive time. India entered the tournament as reigning champions after winning the 2009 Nehru Cup at the Ambedkar Stadium. In the year 2007 India won the Nehru Cup Tournament by defeating Syria in 1-0 margin.
