Palolem Beach, Goa
Palolem beach located in Goa is termed as the ‘Paradise Beach’ for its picturesque beauty that attracts tourists from all over the world.

Palolem beachPalolem beach is also known as `Paradise Beach` located in South Goa. Palolem Beach is situated within 2 kilometres from the market town of Chaudi in the south Goan taluka of Canacona, which is about one hour`s drive from the coastal town of Karwar in Karnataka and about 40 minutes from Margao.

Palolem beach stretches between two magnificent headlands and the beach is lined with towering coconut palms. This beach is about a mile long and it provides seclusion and idyllic scenery.

The stretch of white sand dominates the southern coast of Goa. Until a few years back, it was among the virgin beaches of Goa. However, now it is visited by a number of tourists throughout the year. Although a few developments have taken place, the beach still has a soothing aura to it. Dolphin cruises and the fishing trips are the popular attractions of the beach. The tall coconut trees of the beach make it a perfect place to laze about. At the northern end of the beach is a fresh water stream. Across this stream is a tiny, undeveloped island that can be accessed by just swimming across during low tide. Every season bamboo-hut resorts and restaurants are erected along the beach that allow the tourists to stay right on the sand, only a few meters away from a swim in the Arabian Sea. There are few places in the close vicinity where yoga classes are provided. Both ends of the beach consist of rocks jutting out into the sea. The depth of the sea increases gradually, the northern ends of the beach being the shallowest. This particular place is safe for average swimmers. At the top of the island adjoining Palolem beach, a stone sculpture was erected by an American Conceptual and Land art artist Jacek Tylicki. The sculpture states the given lines `Give if you can - Take if you have to.` It is also called `the Money stone.`

Apart from being a stunningly beautiful beach, Palolem has been famous for its beach hut accommodation. As tourism has developed over the years more resorts, guesthouses, rooms and hotels have grown offering tourists a wide choice of accommodation. The best time to visit Palolem Beach is November to March.
