Nehon is the name of a census town, which is situated in the district of Rupnagar of Punjab state of the country. No discussion on any town or city gets a concrete shape unless and until one develops familiarity with the demographical attributes of the specific town. Towards achieving such goal, quite a number of demographers have been employed in Nehon for conducting surveys and research works and thus prepared reports accordingly. The census report that was published in the year 2001 is significant. According to this report, Nehon has shown a population measurement of 10,158. Female populace constitutes 44 %. Males are more and thus comprise of 56 % of the total population of Nehon. In Nehon, 11 % of the total population is below six years of age.

The above-mentioned report also has stressed about Nehon`s literacy condition. Since Nehon has got an average literacy rate, which is quite high than that of the entire nation, it firms the fact that development has more or less occurred in Nehon. In other words, 79 % and 59.5 % are average literacy rates of Nehon and India respectively. Individually both males and females also are inclined to education. To be specific, male literacy rate constitutes 83 %. However female literacy rate is also no less insignificant which constitutes 73 %.
