The most notable place of worship in the district of Bilaspur is the temple of Naina Devi Ji. It is considered as one of the `Shakti Pithas`. It is about 70 km from the proper city and 15 km from Anandpur Sahib. The temple was built by Raja Bir Chand in the 8th century. It is about 1219 metres above the sea level. Attracting thousands of pilgrims everyday, the temple offers a commanding view of the surroundings due to its location on a triangular hilltop, with the vista of the Holy Anandpur Sahib Gurudwara on one side and Gobindsagar to the other. Naina Devi temple is linked to the motorable roads of Kiratpur and Bilaspur. Apart from the ancient shrine of Goddess Naina, there are temples of Namhol too.
