Moong dal Khichari for Pitta dosha

Ingredients of Moong Dal Khichari
Moong dal khichari for Pitta doshaOne cup of basmati rice
One-cup yellow moong dal
One and a half inch piece of fresh ginger, which is peeled and chopped
A handful of cilantro leaves chopped
Two tablespoonful of unsweetened, shredded coconut
Six cup water
Three teaspoonful of ghee
One-fourth teaspoonful of salt
Half teaspoonful of turmeric
Method of Khichari
Wash the moong dal and rice. It is better to soak them two hours before cooking. Blend well the ginger, coconut, cilantro along with half-cup water till it becomes a liquefied paste. Heat the ghee on medium flame in a large saucepan and add the liquefied paste along with a turmeric salt. The mixture should be stirred well. The rice should be mixed well along with moong dal. To this mixture add six cups of water.

Boil this mixture for five minutes in an uncovered manner. Then cover the saucepan, leaving the lid slightly open. Lower the flame and cook for nearly twenty five to thirty minutes until the dal and rice are completely cooked and blends well.

This moong dal recipe is ideal for all doshas but more beneficial for pitta dosha.
