Lloid`s Botanical garden is situated in Darjeeling district of West Bengal. Indian Botanical Garden network denotes Lloyd`s Botanical Garden by the code WB-DBG. The Garden was founded in the year 1878. That time the Garden covered a land of 40 acres and was built as the distant annex of the Calcutta Botanical Garden.
This Lloyd`s Botanical Garden preserves several species those are aboriginal to the Darjeeling Himalayan Hill Region, Sikkim and other neighbouring regions. Along with this, several exotic plants are also preserved. There is a separate conservatory area where cacti and succulent plants are displayed. There are more than hundred and fifty species of this kind of plants. The collection of Orchid is famous in the Lloyd`s Botanical Gardens.
