Ingredients:
Urad Dhuli Daal -250 gm
1 litre water
Onion - 1 chopped finely
Ginger - small pieces - chopped
Green chillies - 2 chopped
Cuminseed - 1/2 tsp
Salt - A1/2 tsp
Soda-bi-carb - A1/4 tsp
Oil for frying
Curd - 750 gm
Method of cooking Dahi Bhalla:
1. Wash and soak dal in enough water and leave it for around 3 - 6hrs.
2. Drain water and grind, add chopped onion, ginger, coriander, salt, cumin seed and soda.
3. Leave the mixture covered with a wet towel.
4. Heat oil in a pan. With moistened hands, make small Ballas with daal batter.
5. Deep fry - each Bhalla - light brown.
Method to serve:
Once all the Bhallas are fried as well as cooled down. Before serving soak them in water for about ten minutes. Press the water out of Bhalla and put them in beaten yoghurt. Add some salt, roasted jeera in it. Garnish them with ginger juliens. Imli chutney is a good supplement.
