The extremely versatile Bollywood actress Rekha is known for her immense potential of portraying various kinds of roles. In fact she is till date regarded as the eternal temptress of the Bollywood Film Industry. Rekha is the daugher of the well-known film superstar Gemini Ganeshan and another very talented South-Indian film actress Pushpavalli and her birth took place on 10th October 1954. Her original name is Bhanurekha. It is known that her parents were not married to each other and so the actress went through a very tortured childhood. Featured often as the `Bollywood Diva` she has also been labelled by the media as the yesteryears `sex-siren`. The most devastating and dashing a woman that she is, Rekha is also a fun-loving woman to the core and at the same time she is so bold, outspoken and beautiful. Rekha made her silver screen debut with the Bollywood movie `Sawan Bhadon` which saw the light of the day in the year 1970. In this film she was paired with another great yesteryear hero Navin Nischol but still then she could not make a mark in the industry. But in the 1980s however the film industry as well as the whole nation was mesmerized to see Rekha turning from a plump and dark girl to an athletic and sensuous looking damsel. The transformation was so complete that it did not only change her appearance but also seemed to have enhanced her acting capabilities. Another memorable incident also took place in her life at this time. The Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan entered her personal and professional life at this stage and she underwent a second phase of change. Together they delivered super hits like `Mukaddar Ka Sikandar`, `Mr. Natwarlal`, `Khoon Paseena` and `Silsila` and also made them one of the most successful on-screen couples.

By means of her film career Rekha has made a significant contribution to the Indian Film Industry. In fact she is regarded as the encyclopedia. On the personal front Rekha is believed to have had several relationships all of which remained to be futile at the end. Finally she got married to a Delhi based businessman Mukesh Aggarwal in the year 1990. However, he committed suicide the next year in 1991. About others in the film industry she claims that Lata Mangeshkar is her idol. In fact her association with the singing sensation dates back when she was 2 or 3 years old and used to dance to her tune of `Aaja pardesi` from the great Bollywood flick `Madhumati`. In the current time however she lives alone with her secretary called Farzana in her Bandra house located in Mumbai.
