
Sanjay Dutt is one of the most popular Indian actors who has been featured in numerous Hindi movies in the Indian film industry, known as
Bollywood. He is the son of legendary actors
Sunil Dutt and
Nargis. Sanjay Dutt made his acting debut with the Hindi film Rocky in the year 1981. Sanjay Dutt has acted in many blockbuster movies that has established him as a leading actor. Some of his most popular films include Naam, Saajan, Thanedaar, Khal Nayak, Dus, Haseena Maan Jaayegi, Vaastav: The Reality, Kaante, Eklavya: The Royal Guard, Shootout at Lokhandwala and many others. But perhaps his most appreciated films has been Munnabhai M.B.B.S. and Lage Raho Munna Bhai, where he portrayed the role of a sensitive Ganglord. Early Life of Sanjay Dutt
Sanjay Dutt was born on 29th July 1959 in
Mumbai to renowned actors Sunil Dutt and Nargis. He was educated at the Lawrence School Sanawar. He has also worked as a child actor and appeared in the film Reshma Aur Shera in 1972, along with his father. Dutt made his movie debut in Bollywood with the film Rocky that released in 1981. Unfortunately his mother died three days before the premier of his debut film. During the 1980?s he was featured in several other films such as Hathyar, Kabzaa, Taaqatwar, Naam, Jeeva and Vidhata.
Film Career of Sanjay Dutt

Sanjay Dutt had been established as a bollywood star by the 1990s and acted in hit films like Khoon Ka Karz, Thanedaar and Sadak. In 1991 he acted in the acclaimed movie Saajan for which he received the Filmfare Best Actor Award nomination. The major turning point in his career finally came with
Subhash Ghai directed film Khalnayak. This film made the whole nation aware about the birth of a new star. His convincing portrayal of the villainous role in the film gave his career a much-needed boost. He also received a Filmfare nomination for the role of a best actor. His next powerhouse performances were in the Bollywood flick Vaastav, for which he received awards and critical acclamations. Subsequently he starred in many other movies like `Mission Kashmir, Munnabhai M.B.B.S. and
Lage Raho Munnabhai which earned him many prestigious awards of the film fraternity and further cemented his place as one of the best actors in the Indian Film Industry.
Along with his friend and director Sanjay Gupta he also formed a production company called White Feather Films. Jointly they have produced Bollywood films like Kaante, Musafir and Zinda. In all the films the actor was seen in the lead role. He was also seen excelling in comic roles in Bollywood films such as Munnabhai MBBS, Haseena Maan Jayegi, Jodi No. 1, Lage Raho Munna Bhai and so on. In the recent past he has also acted in many other flicks like Shootout at Lokhandwala, Dhamaal, Blue (2009), All The Best: Fun Begins and Knockout (2010). The latest release of Sanjay Dutt was the remake version of the film Agneepath where he played the character of the main antagonist named Kancha Cheena. His performance in the film has been appreciated by both his fans and critics.
Awards and Honours of Sanjay Dutt
For his superb career Sanjay Dutt has received several national and international awards for his films. His International Indian Film Academy Awards includes "Award for Artistic Excellence, Actor in a leading role" for `Vaastav` in the year 2000. In 2004 he was declared the Winner of the Best Comedian Award for the super hit Bollywood flick `Munnabhai M.B.B.S`. In the year 2006 he was also the Winner of Global Indian Film Awards in the category of Critics Choice Awards - Best Actor (Male) for `Lage Raho Munna Bhai`. In the year 2004 he was the Winner of Stardust Star of the Year Award - Male for `Munnabhai M.B.B.S`. In 2007 he was again declared Winner of Stardust Star of the Year Award - Male for Lage Raho Munnabhai.
Personal Life of Sanjay Dutt
In the year 1986 Sanjay Dutt married Richa Sharma and the couple had a daughter Trishala. Soon Sharma was diagnosed with cancer and died on 10 December 1996. Dutt next married model Rhea Pillai in 1998 but they soon got divorced in 2005. Finally Dutt married Manyata in 2008. The couple have a boy named Shahraan and a girl named Iqra. His sister Namrata Dutt is married to another popular Bollywood actor Kumar Gaurav. Another sister of his named Priya contested and won the election for her father`s constituency and is now a Member of Parliament.
