Ranbir Kapoor was born on September 28, 1982 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. He is an Indian actor appearing in Bollywood movies. He was born to popular actors Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh. He is the brother of Riddhima Kapoor and also the great grandson of Prithviraj Kapoor, and the grandson of actor and filmmaker Raj Kapoor. His uncles are Randhir Kapoor and Rajiv Kapoor, and his cousins include Karishma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor and Nikhil Nanda. Kapoor got educated at Bombay Scottish School in Mahim, Mumbai and went on to pursue method acting at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York.

Ranbir Kapoor made his debut as an actor in November 2007 with Sanjay Leela Bhansali`s Saawariya. His co actor in this film was the newcomer Sonam Kapoor, Anil Kapoor`s daughter. The film had a moderate success at the box office but his performance was largely appreciated In June 2008, Kapoor was seen in the lead role in Siddharth Anand`s film Bachna Ae Haseeno opposite alongside Bipasha Basu, Minissha Lamba and Deepika Padukone. He next starred in Ayan Mukerji`s Wake Up Sid opposite Konkona Sharma. The movie faired well at the box office. His next blockbuster movie was Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani with Katrina Kaif. He next acted in Shimit Amin`s drama Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year but the movie failed at the box office. In 2010, he acted in Prakash Jha`s multi-starrer blockbuster Rajneeti. The movie had a huge impact at the box office. Kapoor recently appeared in Siddharth Anand`s Anjaana Anjaani alongside Priyanka Chopra.
