The very talented and extremely gorgeous Bollywood Bhoomika Chawla was born in Tamil Nadu on 21st August, 1978 and was named Rachna. She completed her schooling from Tamil Nadu, it`s only in 1997 that she moved on to Mumbai for a career which began with Ad films and music videos. She began her film career by acting in Telugu Films and her first venture was opposite Sumanth in Yuvakudu in the year 2000.

After stepping into the film industry in the south she subsequently got many offers to act in Telugu movies and also some Tamil movies. She featured in "Badri" in the year 2001 alongside Vijay and this movie was a hit. Her movies were well received and when she was much critically acclaimed and her commercial movies were declared hit, she made her debut opposite Salman Khan in "Tere Naam". This was her first ever break in Bollywood and this movie turned out to be one of the year`s greatest hit at the box office. Her performance was appreciated and she hence received many nominations in the Best Debut category. Bhoomika also won the Best Debut Award at the Zee Cine Awards. As a beginner when she worked in Ad films, she was noticed for her charming smile and innocent looks, especially in the Ad for Ponds. More than fifteen Ad films are into her credit. These Ad films also taught her nuances of acting and she was habituated with the camera. After Tere Naam she starred opposite Abhishek Bacchan in "Run" in 2004. She might have got many offers but she believes in going slow and doing films that suit her taste. She has not taken up acting as a profession but as something in which she can find her happiness. She finds it really interesting as cinema reaches to a large section of people and she can communicate well with this. She will be seen with Shivaji and Jagapatibabu in her forthcoming releases in the south. Bhoomika wants to be a renowned actress like any new comer and would like to be recognized for her performance. Till date she has got great critical appreciation for her Telugu films and she aspires to even win the National Award for Best Actress some day. There is another hidden talent in her that is of writing poems. She has seriously thought about them being published into a book with some of the best collection ever.
