Yogi Amrit Desai evolved the new techniques of ancient Yoga by Amrit Method.

Yogi Amrit DesaiYogi Amrit Desai was an internationally renowned yoga master, seminar leader and author in the field of yoga. He is acknowledged as a proponent of voice of Yoga to the world and has earned honor both in U.S. and abroad. He earned the title Doctor of Yoga, Jagadacharya(Universal Teacher) and the Viswa Yoga Ratna, awarded by the President of India.

Yogi Amrit Desai began teaching Yoga in 1960, and was one of the earliest pioneers of Yoga in the west. He taught a profound life-transforming Kundalini awakening and developed a methodology that altered the popular notion that Yoga is only a physical discipline and reintroduced a spiritual aspect to the practice of Hatha Yoga , which he named as Kripalu Yoga. Kripalu Yoga included meditation in motion. This was named in honor of his Guru, Swami Kripalvanandji. Yogi Amrit Desai founded Yoga Society that eventually grew to become Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health that was one of the largest centers of its kind in America. The methodology he developed was known as `Amrit Method` and this was continuously refined by him. Presently his approach to Yoga is practiced by thousands of students around the world that is taught by certified teachers in around thirty-seven countries.

Yogi Amrit Desai continued to innovate new approach with Amrit Yoga. He is also a prolific author on Yogic methods and philosophy. His books include: `Kripalu Yoga:book I and II`, `A Yogic Perspective on the Twelve Steps` and `Amrit Yoga`. Along with this, there is a compact disc in the market, which records his `Ecstatic Chanting`.

Yogi Amrit Desai`s Teaching is helpful to them those who are ready and open to receive. He has integrated the ancient methodology of yoga into the practical methodology that deals with the challenges of modern life.
