Udita Goswami like many other Bollywood actresses was into modeling and made it the stepping-stone to the Bollywood Film Industry. She belongs to Assam, which is situated in the North East region of the country. She was born on 2nd September in the year 1984 and has modeled for very big brands including PersoCo, Nokia and Titan.

Udita`s education and childhood was spent in Dehradun, which is in the Himalayan foothills. She went to the D.A.V Public School till her 8th standard. She made her film debut with the Bollywood flick "Paap" which was directed by Pooja Bhatt and was termed a moderate hit. In this film she was cast opposite John Abraham and the movie had many steamy scenes, which molded her into the sexy image. Her next venture was with Emraan Hashmi who is famous in Bollywood as a kisser on screen delivering many hot scenes. This film also had such scenes and was soon taken over by controversies. Aksar was another such movie where again she starred with Emran Hashmi along with Dino Morea. Apart from films she also did music videos like Ahmed Khan`s music video which was the remix of Kya Khoob Lagti Ho. Udita`s comments on her kissing on screen was that she feels irritated and is disturbed by the fact that so many people are watching her on the sets. Udita thinks that she is best suited to be in acting as here a lot of talent and skill is required and she wants to do meaningful roles. She has left the modeling industry, which never required any talent except a good figure and face. When asked about her chances doing an item song Udita once commented that her skin showing would only be on purpose when the script demands otherwise she would never allow that to arouse the audience. Udita detests the fact about directors and producers using her sensuality as a promotional tool as often just to pull crowd her image has been used though in the movie that part has been deleted. There are some movies lined up but as Udita suggests that she is very selective about her roles but often she is seen with the same kind of roles like the one in recently released "Agar" where she was again portrayed on similar lines. She might try not to be tagged as one sex symbol only but basically the movies that she is opting for are disapproving the fact. She has been linked with people like Mohit Suri in the past, though she completely disagrees with the whole matter.
