The very talented actress Sadiya Siddique has managed to woo the audiences of the small screen with her performance-oriented roles and had carved a special niche for herself in the television industry. The dusky beauty is now currently seen portraying the role of Gayatri `bua` in the popular Zee show Gayatri `bua`, the aunt of the lead female protagonist Saloni (played by Rajshri Thakur). With her roles of substance she has gradually established herself as an actress of repute. Her willingness to be a complete director`s actor and to pursue the art with immense dedication and overall the no nonsense attitude has proved that she is not just a glamour doll but also an actress with tremendous talent. With her sharp features, impish smile and pleasant personality she has been successful in making the television viewers tune onto their television channels to watch her performances.
In the present show `Saat Phere` Sadiya Siddique plays the role of Saloni`s aunt who is also her best friend and has always supported her through her thick and thins. She plays an unhappy and childless widow in the initial stages who was thrilled on seeing the opportunity of life and happiness knocking at the door when a young and educated man proposes her for lifetime commitment by accepting her as his legally wedded wife. Sometime back her huge fan following also loved to see her in another great show called `Mann` where she played the character of a very loving and obedient daughter.
Throughout the span of her career she has portrayed almost all types of roles. Talking about them she claimed in a recent interview that she has gained enough satisfaction by doing all kinds of roles but the only one left is that of an action girl. In the near future she would definitely like to bag some similar kind of a role. She does not like to compare between films and television. According to her an actor should be satisfied with the role and not with the medium.
Saidya Sidduque has also been successful in making a mark in the Bollywood Film Industry. She has made her presence felt in Bollywood flicks like `Hazaar Chaurasi Ki Maa`, `Just Marrued`, `Uff! Yeh Mohabbat`, `Droh Kaal`, `Little Buddha`, `Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa`, `Raghu Romeo`, `Kali Salwaar` and `Shabd`. However after enjoying an acting career of more than 15 years she is tired now and wants to change the entire state of affairs. She is not only unhappy about the roles she is being offered but also the current trend that is being followed in the industry. She claims that earlier the roles she used to get were much more meaningful than the present ones.
The earlier roles that she enacted also were of much more substance and could be termed as sensitive but now with the passage of time she has to wait for something nice to come up her way. She also does not have any plans to settle down as of now. She just wants to concentrate on her work. Recently she is putting a lot of concentration and dedication in her plays and dedicates some time to her other passion `Kathak` a renowned dance form of Northern India. She considers herself to have worked with the gems of the acting world like Rajat Kapoor and Meghna Gulzaar. Over all there is a lot more to expect from this dynamic actress in the coming times in terms of her role of `substance`.
