The Indian supermodel Madhu Sapre has struggled all the way to become one of the few supermodels from the Indian subcontinent who equally made it big in the international fashion circuit. It all started a few years back when a svelte and a bumbling teenager from a Marathi background and hailing from a local medium school made it real big in the world of modeling.

In spite of speaking heavily accented English and being from a sports background she found the glamour world full of glamour and felt like taking a deep plunge into it. Besides being the pride owner of a flawless complexion and fabulous calcium deposits for cheekbones complemented well with classically strong features she also has a superb height of 5"8 ft. and one of the best maintained figure that the fashion industry ever saw. She was so flexible that she could be fitted into any mould and had the capability to excite any man beyond his mind and make the women activists vent out their anger out of their throats. In fact she is one of the few Indian models who proved to be versatile beyond compare.

In the year 2002 Madhu Sapre went almost at the edge of receiving the most coveted title Miss Universe. She managed to successfully sail through the swimsuit round of the prestigious contest with an incredible score of 9.9 out of 10 and also received the honour of being number one in her evening gown designed by Sangeeta Chopra. Soon after she was put in the question answer round where the judges at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre in Bangkok asked her what she would do if she was the prime minister of her country and in her imperfect English, she replied that she would build a sports complex and this politically incorrect answer costed her the crown.
Even today she denies having said anything wrong and claims that she had been truthful to the core and felt that she really could not make any difference by being the Prime Minister. Being a sports girl she had suffered a lot because she did not get the necessary equipments and the grounds in India to display her talents and she felt she could make a lot of difference in the arenas art and sports if she was given the chance to become a Prime Minister.

Madhu Sapre was one of the first models who told Pradeep Guha to arrange for a swimsuit round in the Miss India Contest and on her insistence the introduction of the swimsuit round and the other necessary preparations made the Indian subcontinent catapult to the peak in the Miss Universe Contest. It was this significant contribution of the irresistible beauty and also her convincing power, which made Pradeep Guha experiment and take the Miss India contest to international standards.

On the personal front also she shared a very intimate bond with her model boyfriend Milind Soman who was also a male supermodel. They were also captured in flashlit eternity in a contentious advertisement where they posed raw only coiled by a python. This single photograph made them the targets of almost all the media house and also a free punching bag for the mass. But still Madhu Sapre is considered to be the best model of the nation and is a cherished dream of many who have been bitten hard by her multi-faceted personality.
